As the new Water Festival 2022 Event kicks off in Pokemon GO, you’ll find a few new Pokemon, as well as a new shiny to add to your ever-growing list of pocket monsters to catch. With Bincale finally getting a shiny in this new update, Shiny Hunters are eager to get their hands on one of them.

But, for those that haven’t caught a Shiny Pokemon before, what do you need to do to get your hands on one of them? We’re here to help you out, as we will give you some tips and tricks to get your hands on one of these Pokemon, and what you’ll need to prepare for in order to get one.

Here’s How To Start Shiny Hunting in Pokemon Go

The first thing that you’ll want to do to prepare for Shiny Hunting is getting your hands on plenty of Pokeballs, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls. The easiest way to do that is by getting out and about, spinning every PokeStop that you come across. If you’re looking for some extra help, you could always get your hands on something like a Pokemon GO Plusor even an Auto Catcher to make your life easier.

Once you have gotten enough items, you’ll be ready to start the hunt. You’ll have about a 1 in 500 chance of finding a shiny in the wild, so you’ll need to make sure that you’re tempering your expectations off of the bat. They’re rare, and sometimes hard to find. Thankfully, due to the Enhanced Spawn Rate that takes place during the Water Festival 2022 Event, you’ll be seeing a lot more Binacle than ever before.

You’ll know that you’ve come across a Shiny Pokemon from a few different visual cues. The first thing that you’ll likely notice is the color difference, as a Shiny Pokemon normally has a different color scheme than its normal counterpart. You’ll also get a flash of sparkling stars when the Pokemon appears on screen, meaning that you’ve found one.

There should also be a Boosted Event Spawn that helps tip the odds in your favor. During special events, Shiny Pokemon tend to appear more often, especially if it’s one of the main attractions, which Binacle happens to be. So, making sure that you’re checking every Binacle that shows up on your screen will help, even if you don’t happen to catch them. If you have the opportunity to do so, setting up a Lure at your local PokeStop and hanging out for a while can also help you see more, as Rainy Lure Modules activated during the event will last for 2 hours.

You could follow every one of these steps and never come across one, or you could randomly open your device and find one hanging out in your living room. It’s hard to say, as there is no pure guaranteed way to find one, but you’ll increase your odds by following along with our tips and tricks! Get out into the world and start searching!
